Stirchley Baths is an Edwardian, disused swimming pool that closed in 1988 after there was a lack of funds to repair the building. The building reopened to the public in 2016 as a community hub. You'll see when you enter the building that so many of the original features have been retained event though there is no longer a functioning swimming pool.
Yoga classes are held in different spaces throughout the building depending on the event. You can find out where your class will be by either visiting the page on the website or asking at reception when you enter the building.
The Main Hall is a huge and airy space with solid wooden floor and under-floor heating which hides the old pool. The ceiling is covered in a sky dome and old changing cubicles adorn the walls.
The Cinema Room in Stirchley Baths is a cosy, sound proofed and air conditioned space. Remote control operated blinds allow the sky lights to be completely covered so the room can be darkened. Many of the original features remain as this space used to be the Second Class Mens Baths.
There are some yoga mats and yoga equipment that you can use if you attend class at Stirchley Baths. If you have your own yoga mat then please bring it along.
Stirchley Baths is accessible by train, Bournville Station, bus 45/47 and car with parking on site. Entrance to the car park is right next to Farm Foods on Pershore Road.
